> Little Smilemakers retro fabric for sale at Spoonflower

Good news for all you fabric lovers! I know some of you have been waiting for this post for a long time! Usually saturday i'm off work but today i could not resist to open the package that was delivered on my doorstep. My Spoonflower fabric samples arrived! I could not wait any longer. After a good quality check, nothing more to be adjusted, i post my patterns up for sale just now.

Spoonflower can print my designs on different types of fabric. Cotton, silk, chinese crepe or linen. I love especially love the organic cotton and linnen. Now i really need some sewing lessons to go create all the lovely things that were stuck in my head all this time!

My spoonflower shop now contains 20 Little Smilemakers patterns. Owl, flowers, retro birds, rickshaw, vintage typewriter patterns....and more! So take a look and let me know what you think! And don't forget to send me photo's of your finished kids clothes or home deco accessories!

> Sinterklaas, zwarte piet and christmas patterns are up!

For most graphic designers that work for commercial products and companies the holiday season starts in the summer. Little Smilemakers Studio is always working six months ahead. To post my new christmas home deco projects and patterns here on the Little Smilemakers blog during the summer feels kinda strange so i always wait till i see a first sign in the shops. I was amazed to see the first signs of our typical Dutch holiday 'Sinterklaas' and 'pepernoten' in my local grocery this week already!

I have been working on several holiday patterns as you can see above. The top pattern was made for a Sinterklaas wrapping paper collection but you can also order this print as online postcard. Could be an invitation for friends to celebrate this holiday together or just a cute note for a Dutch friend or family member overseas. I love the Sinterklaas tradition.

> Baby diapers from Poland, how cute are those things!? Autmn and owl pattern on fabric.

Another artist noticed my patterns were used on a diaper collection by a Polish Company, Maleme. Usually i don't see how my patterns are used by others that download them from my shutterstock portfolio very often. So i was really amused to see this set on their website! How cool is this for your little baby boy or baby girl!? They produce fabric diapers and diaper bags with my graphics, the autumn deer pattern and the owl pattern. (Both patterns are still available for sale at shutterstock). I love the concept of not using disposable diapers. Just wash it out! I am really looking forward to see all of those products in my mailbox this week! If you would like to order one check out the Maleme website.

As a graphic designer i am always working on 'the other side of the seasons.' Just a month ago i finished the December and christmas designs i worked on. The summer is always a bit slow. People going on holidays, companies closing for the summer. But i am working for the big holiday rush already.

September is always a fresh start of new things. People going back to work, feeling this new found energy. A very productive month. Just before it all starts i wanted to post a quick note here. I will be busy designing some interior products this month. For a new summer collection. So my life will be all 'flowery colorful' the next few weeks. But just for Septembers sake: You can take a look in my online card collection for a cute autumn note like the one above. Have a nice after-summer time and enjoy the color changes of pre-autumn!
